Getting Started with Ledger® | Ledgér.com/Start®

Welcome to Ledger®, your secure gateway to the world of cryptocurrency. Whether you're new to crypto or simply taking steps to protect your digital assets, you've made the right choice by choosing Ledger® — the trusted name in secure hardware wallets.

At Ledgér.com/Start®, we’ll guide you step-by-step through the setup process, ensuring your experience is simple, safe, and stress-free. Let’s get started!

What Is Ledger®?

Ledger® is a security-first company offering hardware wallets that protect your cryptocurrency and digital assets from online threats. Unlike software wallets or exchanges that are vulnerable to hacks, Ledger® hardware wallets store your private keys offline — ensuring full control, ownership, and security.

With your Ledger® device, you can manage thousands of coins and tokens including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, USDT, and many others.

Step 1: Unbox Your Ledger Device

Inside your Ledger® box, you’ll find:

  • 1 Ledger® hardware wallet (Nano S Plus or Nano X)
  • 1 USB-C cable
  • 3 recovery sheets
  • A keychain strap or accessories (varies by model)
  • A “Getting Started” card

⚠️Important: Ensure the box is sealed and undamaged. Ledger® devices are never shipped with pre-written recovery phrases. If yours came with one, do not use it — contact Ledger Support immediately.

Step 2: Visit Ledgér.com/Start®

Go to the official website: https://www.ledgér.com/start. Beware of phishing websites and always double-check the spelling of the URL.

From here, download Ledger Live® — the official app used to set up and manage your device, install apps, and send or receive crypto.

Ledger Live® is available for:

  • Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Mobile (iOS, Android – Bluetooth available for Nano X)

Step 3: Set Up Your Device

Open Ledger Live® and select "Get Started". Follow the guided steps:

1. Choose your device

Select Nano S Plus or Nano X.

2. Initialize your device

Plug in your device and follow the on-screen instructions:

  • Press both buttons to start
  • Choose "Set up as new device"
  • Create a PIN code (4 to 8 digits)

3. Write down your recovery phrase

Your Ledger device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is the only backup of your crypto wallet. Write it down carefully using the provided recovery sheets and store it in a secure place. Never share this phrase. Never store it digitally.

Step 4: Verify and Secure

After setup:

  • Confirm your recovery phrase using the device
  • Set a password for the Ledger Live® app
  • Enable biometric unlock (mobile) or device lock settings (desktop)

Security Tip: Ledger® will never ask for your 24-word phrase, not even via email or support.

Step 5: Add Crypto Accounts

Once your device is secured, it’s time to manage your crypto.

In Ledger Live®:

  • Navigate to “Accounts”
  • Click “Add Account”
  • Choose a crypto asset (e.g., Bitcoin)
  • Install the relevant app on your Ledger device (it will prompt you)
  • Your account is now ready to receive, store, or send crypto

Step 6: Receive and Send Crypto

To receive:

  1. Select an account (e.g., Ethereum)
  2. Click “Receive”
  3. Connect your device and verify the displayed address
  4. Copy the address to receive funds

To send:

  1. Select an account
  2. Click “Send”
  3. Enter the recipient’s address and amount
  4. Confirm the transaction on your Ledger device

Every transaction must be physically confirmed on your Ledger hardware wallet. This ensures that even if your computer is compromised, your crypto remains secure.

Next Steps: Expand Your Crypto Journey

With Ledger®, you’re not limited to storage — you can also:

  • Stake crypto (e.g., ETH, SOL, ATOM)
  • Connect to Web3 apps (DeFi, NFTs) via Ledger Extension
  • Buy, swap, or sell crypto through partners in Ledger Live®

Ledger’s ecosystem is constantly growing, giving you control over more than just crypto — you’ll soon be able to manage digital IDs, NFTs, and tokenized assets with the same military-grade security.
